Those who are looking for an alternative product for iRobot’s Roomba are on the right track. Today, I’ll focus on analyzing two amazing and representative models from each company, Deebot N79 vs Roomba 650. Speaking a little bit about less familiar brand – Ecovacs, it is a Chinese company and its first release was Deebot in 2007. The brand has launched three main lines of robots, including Deebot for floor cleaning, Atmobot for air purifying and Winbot for window cleaning.
Robotic vacuums are an endless inspiration source of most of household product manufacturers. Because it represents the prestige of a company, many of them try to make their product unique and appealing by giving out latest technologies. Amongst all the brands on the markets these days, those which are well-known and seen as matching opponents are iRobot and Ecovacs. The former is already familiar with you guys, right? It’s due to the long list of iRobot’s Roomba on this website. I have talked several times before that I’m a big fan of iRobot. Interestingly, last week, I found out about a shining baby from Ecovacs by chance, called Deebot N79.
People have gradually grown their interest in robotic vacuums. Yet, bear in mind if all you care about is suction power or budget (check traditional models from Shark, Dyson or Bissell), robotic vacuums may not a suitable choice. This kind of machine is perfect for those who are looking for convenience and modernity. For example, you’re away from home for a few days, you can set your robot up. The machines will operate without your presence.

Like most robotic vacuums, Deebot N79 vs Roomba 650 have a traditional round shape. They are one of the first products that were released a few years ago so I think at that time this form of design is optimal. Both vacuums are distinguishable. They all come with black color but unlike Roomba 650, Deebot N79 has pattern on the surface. Also, the N79 looks more shining to me. In addition, there are more extra buttons on the Roomba 650’s surface than the Deebot N79’s. It is understandable because the latter has WIFI connection so you can operate it through smart phones.
Great maneuverability is one of the biggest advantage of a robotic vacuum. Although the Roomba 650 is nearly twofold heavier than the other, they are still considered as lightweight machines, 11.5 and 6.7 pounds respectively. Hence, the users won’t have any problem related to carrying them from one place to another. In addition, while the Roomba 650 is designed with iAdapt Navigation system, the Ecovacs equips the Deebot N79 with Smart Motion Navigation and a mobile app. All of these things allow the units to guide through the room and find dirt efficiently.
