The Design

Roombas have the circular design and Roomba 770 and 650 are no exception. Everyone who plans on buying a smart gadget which runs around their houses will focus on its appearance. Let’s face it, you’re always want a good-looking and shiny product, right? Me too. Believe it or not, Roomba 770 and 650 are two of the most attractive smart floor cleaner I’ve ever seen. Both of them come with black color with a big greenish “CLEAN” button in the middle.  Roomba 770 is quite similar to the Roomba 650 in terms of appearance, but it has some noticeable visual improvements. Roomba 770 has a few more extra buttons and in my opinion, its dark color is more tempting.

The Portability

The dimensions of these two are quite similar. They are 13.4 x 3.6 x 13.4 inches (Roomba 650) and 13.9 x 3.4 x 13.9 inches (Roomba 770). In terms of weight, Roomba 770 is a little heavier than Roomba 650, 13.2 and 11.7 pounds, respectively. Don’t worry. Roomba 770 and 650 won’t have any trouble cleaning your hard-to-reach areas.

The Cleaning Performance

I guess you’ve waited for this hot topic since beginning. Whether you obsess with the good-looking or not, cleaning capabilities are always predominant the criteria list. Knowing this is crucial as we needs to know how well those smart floor cleaners perform to determine if they meet our requirements.

The Features :

  • Roomba 770 vs 650 are designed with 3-stage Cleaning Process which allows the machines to powerfully remove dirt, debris and hair on any type of surface. This system can automatically detect and adjust to different type of floors, including carpet, hard floor and bare floor, etc. Compared to Roomba 650, the cleaning process in Roomba 770 has one major change. It is more advanced, which includes acoustic and optical sensors. iRobot claims this vacuum can clean up to 98% of debris on your floor.
  • There isn’t any Roomba which doesn’t come with patented iAdapt Responsive Cleaning Technology. This feature allows Roomba 770 vs 650 to thoroughly cover the entire room floor. Your machines can go smoothly underneath furniture, overcome obstacles and recognize carpet fringe and cords so it won’t get tangled up. The units have tendency to go over the same area repeatedly until all the dirt has been removed.
  • Dirt detect technology are another similar point between Roomba 770 and 650. They are built with sensors which locate the dirt on its way and ensure all the dirt, debris and hair was picked up with another pass or two. Especially, Roomba 770 has dirt detect series 2 with persistent pass. This allows the machine to focus more on those dirt areas with back and forth cleaning motion.
  • Just like Roomba 761 (Roomba 761 vs 650), the 770 includes a remote control. This brings about convenience as the user can change the unit’s settings or start the cleaning process without getting up. In addition, only Roomba 770 is equipped with dual HEPA air filters which helps keep the air clean with ability of trapping up to 99.7% of allergens and small particles. It will be perfect for allergy suffers.

The Price

Well, this is the tough part. If you want to save $100, then you should go for Roomba 650. It has several of the same features and cleaning ability as the Roomba 770. However, Roomba 770 comes with lots of extra features and improvements which makes it a wonderful machine.
